Proposing discussion ideas for the Opinion Festival 2016

Opinion Festival (Arvamusfestival in Estonian) – a meeting place and platform for the exchange of ideas regarding topics that are important for Estonia and Estonians – will take place again August 12-13, 2016.

The thoughts and standpoints of the people of Estonia give life to the Opinion Festival. We encourage individuals and organizations to raise certain topics at the Opinion Festival 2016. Whether you want to talk about some decisions that need to be reconsidered, topics that need to be discussed, questions that need a deeper analysis, or a new perspective that you want to introduce, the best way to go about it is to team up with other people interested in similar issues and create a respective topic-area at this year’s Opinion Festival. The discussions help circulate new knowledge, give momentum to initiatives that benefit society, and advance the opinion culture in Estonia.

We are looking for specific ideas for discussions as well as more general discussion topics until January 31st!

From all those who propose their discussion ideas, we expect the ability to contribute to the organization of their specific event, and openness to cooperation with other people who want to talk about similar topics. Without help in carrying out the plans, the case may be that the topic you proposed will not make it to the Opinion Festival.

We will get in touch with everyone who proposed their discussion ideas by the end of February, and after that, we will start assembling the program of Opinion Festival 2016! Opinion Festival’s team provides substantive as well as technical assistance and is committed to help the organizers of specific events through the whole process all the way until August.
